Simon Phipps
RECO Life is the culmination of a lifetime of experiences.
Following the sale of my business three years ago I found myself at a stage in my life where I had lots of energy, lots of time and the luxury of being able to do anything I want.
I set out to develop a brand that reflected the values I follow in life and business and that had the flexibility to represent any number of products and services. RECO Life was born.
We are starting with producing beautiful hi-specification structures out of single use shipping containers because it was a need I had that was reflected in the wider market. I could not predict the crisis we are living through, but I can certainly help people work and live in a better space.
I now have the luxury of working with my son Tristan who is brand director for the RECO Fit range of products as well as a number of good friends and professionals that I trust and know will deliver to the high standards we should expect.
I am looking forward to the adventure over the next few years and I am excited to see where it will take us all.
Tristan Phipps
I’m Tristan Phipps, Brand Director for RECO Fit. I am also the younger and wiser son of RECO’s founder Simon Phipps. Over the last few years, I’ve worked on building a strong online social community using health, wellness and sustainability as my core focuses.
Beforehand, my love of adventuring and exploring remote parts of the world culminated in four years working in remote regions of Southern Africa as a Safari Guide. My home was the road, and my house was a converted pickup truck!
Space was a precious commodity in those days, as my whole world had to be packed into my vehicle. Work, rest and play all had to be fully mobile. That’s when I fully realised the value in reconceptualising space to suit one’s lifestyle.
For me, our RECO spaces are a physical representation of a life lived on your own terms. The pandemic has shown us how resilient and adaptable we are as humans. However, there’s simply no need to compromise these days.
RECO space allows you to design and contain all aspects of your life. No compromises, no excuses, and all on your terms.

When Simon approached me to “get on board” the RECO train, it was during England’s first Covid-19 lockdown. I was working from home, as was my wife. And my four boys.
Although I’m fortunate enough to have sufficient space for this nightmare scenario to work in theory, the reality is of course that a constant stream of interruptions – each family member having an entirely different timetable to the others -meant extra stress percolating throughout the home.
I spent 15 years working in television and 20 years running the commercial arms of several businesses, and I’m always affected by the surroundings in which I’m working. When Simon showed me around the RECO Life HUB, I instantly felt the kind of calm conducive to a focussed working space. Visually, it was stunning.
Sitting at the desk and looking around the beautifully finished space, I couldn’t help but reach for the remote to fire up the wall-mounted large screen which revealed ready-to-go video conferencing, Smart TV and internet. Now I understood why it was called The HUB. I was at the centre of my domain. In control. And loving my surroundings. Even the sound inside The RECO HUB confirmed the quality of the build.
“Yes, Simon. I’m in”.
Iain Purves
As a young lad you would usually find me in the garden making or building something.
I was lucky that my mum and dad encouraged me to explore and build things and didn’t mind the piles of scrap wood etc, that I would collect and that was what I built my first den with.
It was a place to escape and to meet my friends, chat and have a laugh. Mix that with the outside fire pit I built with my dad and add a pack of sausages, it was the best and so many great memories.
I’ve been building beautiful houses and many other types of buildings for such a long time now. I’ve learnt a lot along the way and what has always been important to me is not only the look of a building but also how you use it.
Almost going full circle, I am excited that I am going back to my grass roots. Not quite building the old den, but re-purposing existing boxes and using the many years of experience to create beautiful purposeful outside spaces.
With the current difficult times we all find ourselves in what I believe has given many of us an opportunity to re-evaluate how we live our lives. For me that outside space has again become my escape, it’s somewhere I can work, play and put life into perspective.
